Posted On: Friday, April 11, 2025 - 14:56 by Brandi Tuttle

Uyen Nguyen is the most recent addition to our staff at the Medical Center Library. She was born in the city of Hanoi in Vietnam. Growing up, Uyen always knew she wanted a job that would allow her to support people in a service-related field. After moving to the U.S. at 16, she began to think more about what her career path might be.

During the pandemic, Uyen used much of the initial lockdown time for self-reflection and gaining perspective. She explored opportunities in national nonprofit fields and considered whether her path might lead abroad or keep her stateside. While working at the Goucher College Library, she quickly realized how much she enjoyed this line of work. Not long after, she saw a job posting here at the Duke Medical Center Library and applied.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has unveiled its new Public Access Policy, which will take effect on December 31, 2025.
