Accessibility

The Medical Center Library is committed to providing access to collections, services, and spaces for all patrons. If library resources are not available in an accessible format, the Library will work to identify reasonable accommodations and ensure timely access for users with disabilities. Parking & Building: 

  • Physical access to the library is restricted to Duke Health ID badge holders on evenings and weekends. (See our Hours page).
  • The library is a considerable distance from the nearest publicly available handicapped parking space. (For more information, see the Health System Visitor Garages website.)
  • There are automatic doors on Level 0 (accessible from Searle Center Drive) and at the main entrance on Level 2. (See the Library floor plans.)
  • Elevator access is available to all library levels.
  • There are a variety of study and meeting spaces, some that may be reserved and others on a first-come first-served basis. (For more information, see the study & meeting rooms page.)
