Access Issues for Incoming Trainees: What You Need to Know

If you're an incoming trainee (student, intern, resident, fellow, etc.), you may have some issues accessing certain Duke systems from off campus before your official start date, especially some library resources or LMS modules like BLS or ACLS.

Even if you’ve received your Duke NetID, you may still be listed as an affiliate in the system until your status updates, likely your first day (though it could be sooner). Until that happens, full access to some resources from off campus may be restricted.

What to do in the meantime:
You can access required materials, including BLS, ACLS, etc. by connecting to Duke WiFi on campus or using a library computer.

If you have questions or need help navigating this, feel free to contact us. We're happy to help!
