NLM Dataset Catalog Relaunched

Are you searching for biomedical datasets to support your research? Then check out the newly relaunched National Library of Medicine (NLM) Dataset Catalog. (NOTE: Use Chrome to access this website.)

Originally introduced as a beta product in early 2024 and dubbed the “PubMed of datasets,” the NLM Dataset Catalog has undergone significant enhancements since its initial release. This centralized, searchable platform now connects researchers to over 2 million biomedical datasets from a wide range of repositories, including Figshare, Johns Hopkins and Dartmouth Dataverses, Database of Genotypes and Phenotypes (dbGaP), and the Immunology and Analysis Portal (ImmPort). See the complete list of included data repositories here.

What’s New in the Relaunched Catalog?
•    Faster Dataset Ingestion: AI automation has cut processing time from two weeks to just one day.
•    MeSH Enrichment: All datasets are now tagged with Medical Subject Headings (MeSH), improving search relevance and metadata quality.
•    Redesigned Interface: Expanded filtering options and an updated user guide for easy navigation and search.
•    Advanced Search Options: Search by dataset title, author, funding source, or contributor name.
•    Login Feature: Similar to MyNCBI, allows users to save search history, repositories, and download datasets of interest. You can login with your Duke credentials.
•    Improved Citation Features: Allows users to store and export dataset citations.
