Lexicomp Mobile App Code Changed 8/31

Each year as part of the Lexicomp Online subscription, Duke receives an updated subscription to Lexi-Select, the Lexicomp mobile app. Mobile app subscriptions expired the end of August 2017.

ClinicalKey App Now Available (and replaces First Consult)

The First Consult app from ClinicalKey has been retired! If you were a fan of this point-of-care resource or already like and use ClinicalKey, then you are in luck! All of the First Consult information (and more) is available via the ClinicalKey app.

According to a 2015 Pew Research Center report, “64% of American adults now own a smartphone of some kind, up from 35% in the spring of 2011” and “62% of smartphone owners have used their phone in the past year to look up information about a health condition” [Pew Research Center American Trends Panel survey from October 2014]. Undoubtedly that number has increased.

DynaMed Plus, an evidence-based point-of-care information resource is available. It's accessible through the Library's Clinical Tools, Databases page, and via mobile devices.

To access DynaMed Plus on your mobile device:

  • Connect to DynaMed Plus while you're on the Duke network.
  • Click on the "Sign Up For Remote Access" link at the top of the page
  • Create your own username and password
  • Download the DynaMed Plus app from your device's app store...

    Has Your UpToDate Anywhere Access Lapsed?

    Have you gotten an email from UpToDate Support lately with the subject line "Your remote access to UpToDate has lapsed"? If you downloaded the UpToDate mobile app and haven't used it or signed into to UpToDate on campus for a while, your access may temporarily lapse.

    Have no fear! It is easy to re-verify your affiliation with Duke. Simply complete one of these tasks:

  • While on a computer on the Duke campus, go to http://www.uptodate.com, click on the log in link and enter your UpToDate user name and password.
  • Access UpToDate through MaestroCare. 
  • Open your UpToDate Mobile App while on the Duke wifi network.
  • If you are working away from Duke for an extended period of time, for example doing global health work...

  • Go to UpToDate and click on "Register" in the top right corner while on Duke campus/VPN

    The First FDA Approved App

    NLM Contest: Show Off Your Apps

    The NLM Show Off Your Apps: Innovative Uses of NLM Information Challenge is an initiative of the National Library of Medicine (NLM), of the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This Challenge is open to individuals, teams of individuals, and organizations (collectively, "Entrants"). The purpose of this contest is to develop innovative software applications to further NLM’s mission of aiding the dissemination and exchange of scientific and other information pertinent to medicine and public health. Eligible software applications must make use of NLM’s vast collection of biomedical data including downloadable data sets, APIs (application programming interfaces), and/or software tools.
