STEM in Color: A Celebration of Women of Color in STEM Event

“STEM in Color: A Celebration of Women of Color in STEM” will be held on Saturday, February 16th from 9:30-11:30am in the Great Hall in Trent Semans.

The keynote speaker, Dr. Ruthie D. Lyle, is a Lead Research Engineer with USAA Chief Technology Office of Research, a prolific inventor with 164 issued patents, and the first African American woman to earn her doctorate in Electrical Engineering from NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering among many other notable accomplishments. She will discuss the “double-bind” that women of color in STEM often face and share her personal triumph over challenges in her academic and professional journey to encourage and motivate attendees to continue to persist in their chosen STEM disciplines.
