New AAP Guidelines for Depression in Teens

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recently released new guidelines recommending yearly screenings for depression in teenagers. These guidelines come after studies indicated that approximately 50 percent of adolescents with depression are diagnosed before reaching adulthood, and as much as 66 percent of depressed teenagers don’t get any help or care.
