Library Participates in SOM Faculty Flex Voucher Program

The School of Medicine is rolling out a new Faculty Flex Voucher Pilot Program to support junior faculty members.  The Medical Center Library & Archives is participating as part of the program, which allows faculty to tap into services to support their work at a point in their career where family/childcare obligations are not as flexible.

Vouchers will be awarded for services up to $2,500 from the Library, Duke Office of Clinical Research (DOCR), and the Communications Publications Services group at the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI), over a 6-month period starting January 1, 2015.

October 24: Deadline for meeting with service provider(s) to discuss your needs
 October 31: Final applications due

Here is a sample of what the Library can provide:  With one $250 voucher, you can meet with a librarian, get your literature search done, and walk away with an EndNote library of relevant articles. Your librarian will be available over the 6-month period to help support you through publication. If you are writing a systematic review of the literature, additional vouchers will be required.  Other services are available based on your particular needs.

To set up a time to meet with a librarian to review your needs, contact the Library at 919.660.1150 or medical-librarian@duke.edu.

For more details about the program, services and the application, visit the Faculty Flex Voucher Pilot Program Website. For questions, contact the Office for Faculty Development (facdev@dm.duke.edu or 919.684.4139).
